A trip to see the Easter Bunny!

Somehow Easter is sneaking up on us and I figured this week would be better than next to go visit the Easter Bunny! Yes, I pay $25 to get these pics taken, but I love looking at them every year to see how the kids have grown :)  Luckily there was no one in line and Madeline did not even freak out!  Score!

Here is our pic from today!

And for comparison, here is last year's photo!

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day

I guess I completely forgot to post these!  Oops!  I feel like our weeks are getting super busy and I guess its just a sign of what's to come as the kids get older.

Sadly, my great picture streak ended with this holiday.   I was able to only take two pics before the camera died.  Their shirts say "Kiss me I'm Irish" but of course I have no full shot of it!

The weather warmed up for a bit so we set up the sand table and the outside toys.  Looking forward to when its permanently warm (its back down into the 40's this week).  I really hate the long winters here, but at least we didn't get much snow this year!

Giveaway winner! The winner of the March blog giveaway was Evelyn!  Please contact me with your email address and I can put you in touch with Carrie for your free organic cleaner!  Thanks to all who entered!  If you are interested in sponsoring a giveaway please contact me for further information!  Thanks!

March blog Giveaway!

Hello everyone!  It's been a while since we've had a giveaway here!  My friend Carrie is sponsoring this month and has a great product for all of you to try!  Here is a quick not from Carrie about her company and giveaway!
Hi, I'm Carrie, and a fellow mom and blogger.  I usually am blogging over at and am excited to share some information with other moms.
I have 2 daughters, ages 4 and 2 (on the cusp of both their Spring birthdays),and like most of you, am always concerned about the food I give the, the products I use, and the safety of cleaners in my home.
My 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with Sensory Integration "Issues" a few years back; life is challenging to say the least. She is highly sensitive to smells and sounds, and although she tested NEGATIVE for allergies through a blood test, I know she is sensitive to foods and products we use.  She was also diagnosed as "pre-asthmatic" and does a daily inhaler of Flo-Vent to prevent asthma attacks.

Another friend of mine showed me clinical research studies done by by a company called Shaklee, whom she is a Director for. Shaklee has been around for 56+ years and was recently bought by Roger Barnett for the reason of his child:  his child has asthma and they had to find new products to use inside their home for their son. Products that were safe.
I decided to try these cleaning products and soon realized my 4 year old daughter was not having AS MANY temper tantrums as before, and she had ZERO asthma episodes this past winter.   I then switched to their laundry soap and dryer sheets as well, and have had nothing but positive things to say about them!

Did you know that 72% of children in the ER are there because of household cleaning products (Parenting magazine).  Our Basic H is equal to 5824 bottles of 26oz windex.  It also has over 100 other uses. (degreaser, wood, marble, granite, stove tops, remove bugs from cars, removes sticky residue like gum from hair, breaks down wax to remove lipstick from carpet and much more) Our cleaning line is non-toxic and safe for your home, children, and pets.  Your skin is also your largest organ and when you wash your clothes in detergent, toxins are soaking into your skin. You have clothes on all day and you sleep in your sheets that have those toxins also.  You breathe them in while sleeping and those toxins break down your immune systems and can create other health challenges.  Contact me for more information!

-Carrie is giving away a bottle of this great household cleaning product this month:  Get Clean Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate.

She is also throwing in a free spray bottle to use!

There are two ways to win:

1.  Comment here on this blog.  Just leave your name and its as simple as that!

2.  Visit Carrie's Shaklee FB page HERE and like her page.  You will get an extra entry for liking her page. Be sure to comment about the giveaway :)  The 100th person who likes her page will also win a great prize from her company!

The Winner will be announced Monday, March 26th.  Good luck!!!

Super Swimmer!

Brooke has been in swimming lessons for MONTHS.  7 months to be exact.  It was not her cup of tea and she was begging weekly for me to put her in ice skating lessons instead.  Swimming is not a negotiable skill to me.  She HAS to know how to swim.  I told her once she was a good swimmer we could stop, but we had to stick with it.

Well this week she passed her level 1 swim test during her swim  lesson!  She is swimming under water for 5 feet, can get out of the pool, jump off and get to the side, etc.  Her basics are coming along!

After she passed she got to ring the bell at the pool and everyone clapped for her!  She was SO excited.

Let's hope we have an independent swimmer by the summer! It will make my life at the beach and pool a lot easier!

Brooke quotes continued

I am so glad I am keeping a running tab of all of the things Brooke asks me.  I would never remember it all otherwise so its going to be a great keepsake later on!

Here are some goodies from the month of February:
  • Do I have bones in my face?  What are those bones called?  Why are they there?
  • I had a crazy dream last night.  I was in a machine and God was in it and he took me to places when he was around!!!  Crazy!!!
  • Mom did the groundhog see his shadow?  (YES).  (STARTS BAWLING)  NOOOOOOOOO  I don’t want it to be winter.  I want spring!
  • MOM!  When you paint your nails, you can use Salon Express to help you put beautiful designs on them!  It’s amazing!
  • Mom do you remember in Toy Story 1 how Andy leaves the room and the toys come alive?  Well I really hope that happens in my room one day.
  • Mommy, sometimes when you stick out your stomach like this you look fat.
  • The moon is made of rock and green seed and that way it can stay out all day and all night.
  • Why can’t I have my birthday party ON my birthday?  My body won’t know its five if its not my actualy birthday!!!!
  • Was Bambi alive before people were alive?
  • All I want for my birthday is a sleepover with you.  I won’t snore or steal your covers like daddy.
And here is one that I was not prepared for at all!

Mom did you make me with God?
Well how did you when God isn’t here?
-Well he is all around
Did you make me when you were a little girl?
-No I was MARRIED and a grown up
Oh.  Do they have TV’s in heaven?
-I don’t know
Well you were in heaven when you were a baby right?  But it was a long time ago
-Yes a long time ago
Were you born just after the dinosaurs died?
-well not RIGHT after, but yes they were already dead when I was born
Oh well you were born a LONG LONG time ago!
